The Pennsylvania Envirothon educates high school students in natural resources and environmental sciences and provides future generations with the ability to be better equipped to address the complex natural resource concerns facing today's world as well as the challenges of tomorrow. 

 

 

 

 

Students compete in 5 categories; soils, wildlife, acquatics, forestry and a current environmental issue.  The first place team from each county advances to the state competition. 

The 2009 Jefferson-Clarion Envirothon was held on May 5th at the Jefferson County fair grounds.  75 students participated from the 2 counties.  1st place was awarded to Brookville Area High School (Jefferson).  3rd place team, Redbank Valley High School is eligible to represent Clarion County at the state completion at Bald Eagle State Park on May 19th.
